The Roma Halfwit Gill is back.

Originally designed by Middle River Baits, the Halfwit Gill became a known bait in the Swimbait Underground and Swimbait Universe community for its thin weedless gill profile, natural swim, and ability to get bit. West Coast Baits brought this proven design back with our own custom plastisol blend, custom eyes, and fresh color lineup.

Built around the unique Halfwit Tail, this bait has a subtle side-to-side kick without being a traditional wedge tail. The flat-back tail shape gives the bait a controlled, natural swim that stays clean and realistic without overpowering the profile.

The Roma Halfwit Gill features a thin bluegill-style body, large collapsible hook slot, and versatile rigging options. It was made to fish around grass, docks, tules, laydowns, shallow cover, and pressured fish that are keyed in on bluegill.

HOOK FIT:

The Halfwit Gill fits a 12/0 BKK or 12/0 Owner Beast perfectly inside the hook slot for a clean weedless setup.

It can also be rigged with an 8/0 BKK or 8/0 Owner Beast with the hook point exposed outside the slot for a more open-hook presentation.
