With a round center body and free-moving legs, the Variant creates a bait ball pulsing action with every twitch, shake, and pause. Fish it slow, twitch it like a finesse jerkbait, or let it hover and glide through the strike zone.
Variant-20 TPE — $7.99
Our budget-friendly urchin bait made with elastic floating TPE construction. Features a 20mm center ball with 4” legs for a larger profile and extra movement.
Packaged in a simple resealable bag to keep the price affordable.

Variant-16 — $14.99
Our premium in-house urchin bait made from a naturally buoyant PVC plastisol blend. Built with a compact 16mm center body and free-moving legs for a clean, responsive, high-end finesse presentation.
The standard Variant-16 has a balanced profile with great movement, less drag, and a natural pulsing action.
Variant-16X — Extra Fuzzy
The high-action version of the Variant-16. Built with an extra-fuzzy profile and more tentacles for more movement, more water displacement, and a stronger visual presence in the strike zone.
The Variant-16X is the one to throw when you want the bait to stand out, pulse harder, and trigger reaction bites.
Variant-16 and Variant-16X come in a 2-pack packaged in a reusable jar for easy storage and protection.
Best For:
Finesse fishing, pressured bass, clear water, suspended fish, bed fish, sight fishing, and when they won’t commit to a normal worm, jig, or swimbait.
TPE Care Note — Variant-20 TPE Only:
TPE urchin-style baits have long free-moving legs that may bend during storage or shipping. If the legs arrive bent, they can usually be restored with a quick hot-water reset. Dip the bait in hot water for a few seconds until the legs relax, then dunk it in cold water to help set the shape.
Store TPE baits in their original packaging and keep them separate from standard soft plastics. Do not store TPE baits mixed with plastisol baits.
